Words scrawled
by dull sticks
quickened by sharp thoughts
can come slow
like old smooth-mouthed horses
moving to a dark stall
blanketed and blinkered by night
to stand still stopped by age's
tight hand with reins
to a bit of steel
or
can clatter about
like

racing colts

romp stout

without oughts

frisky, prissy

loose and running

rippling.
